Jupiter Spend is the bridge between your crypto and everyday payments. It is a set of regulated financial services built into the Jupiter Mobile app that lets you spend your stablecoins: pay merchants, send <Tooltip headline="Fiat" tip="Government-issued currency (e.g. USD, EUR) that is not backed by a physical commodity but by the issuing government." cta="Open the glossary" href="/user-docs/guides/glossary#fiat">fiat</Tooltip> abroad, and use a Visa card, without leaving the app.

Historically, crypto has been an "investment layer" separated from the real economy. Jupiter Spend treats your stablecoins as a spendable balance, a kind of digital cash.

* Verification as a feature: licensed financial partners issue the card, process payments and handle transfers. That is why you verify your identity once before using Spend; in exchange, your stablecoins can pay through the Visa network and local payment rails.
* A tab, not a separate app: Spend has its own Spend tab in the Jupiter Mobile app's bottom navigation, next to your wallets on the Home and Portfolio tabs.

## Key Spend features

* Jupiter Card: a Visa card powered by your stablecoins, accepted wherever Visa is accepted. It runs on credit-card infrastructure, but it is not a credit card: Jupiter issues no credit lines, so you can only spend what you have deposited. The card is available as a virtual card, and physical cards are rolling out in phases.
* Jupiter QR Pay: scan-to-pay for merchant QR codes in supported Asia-Pacific countries. Pay in USDC from a wallet in Jupiter Mobile, or, with a supported card, from your Spend balance. The merchant receives local currency, and Jupiter charges no fees to you or the merchant (a network fee can apply when you pay from a wallet). From your Spend balance, person-to-person payments are available only in select regions.
* Global Fiat Remittance: virtual accounts in USD and EUR to receive bank transfers into your Spend balance, plus SWIFT transfers to over 200 countries and local payouts in 15 currencies.

## Global ID: your key to Spend

Every Spend feature requires identity verification (KYC), which the law requires to help prevent fraud and money laundering. It is tied to your Global ID (previously called Jupiter ID), the account you sign in to the Jupiter Mobile app with, using an email, Google or Apple login.

* Verify once: one verification gives you access to the card, QR Pay and remittance.
* Kept apart from your wallets: Global ID is not linked to your <Tooltip headline="DeFi" tip="Decentralized Finance. Financial services built on blockchain technology that operate without traditional intermediaries like banks." cta="Open the glossary" href="/user-docs/guides/glossary#defi">DeFi</Tooltip> wallets and does not give access to their funds.

## Getting started with Jupiter Spend

These steps are in the Jupiter Mobile app.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the Spend tab">
    Tap the **Spend** tab (card icon, bottom right of the app) and sign in with your Global ID.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Verify your identity">
    Follow the steps in the Verification Center: an identity document, your phone number, a liveness check, personal information and a short questionnaire. Residents of Asia-Pacific countries also provide a proof of address. Verification usually takes a few minutes; an application flagged for manual review typically takes 3 to 5 working days.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Fund your Spend balance">
    If your funds are in a Jupiter Mobile wallet, use **Send** → **Send to Spend**: it accepts any token and swaps anything that is not USDC or USDT into USDC. For funds held elsewhere, tap **Deposit** on the Spend home to open the Add Money screen and pick the network you send from: on Solana, send USDC or USDT only; on another network, send a token listed under Supported tokens for that network, which is converted to USDC. Depending on your card, withdrawals from Spend may not be available yet, so deposit only what you plan to spend; USDT deposits cannot be withdrawn to fiat. See [Fees & Limits](/user-docs/global/spend/fees-and-limits#withdrawals).
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Warning>
  On Solana, your Spend deposit address accepts USDC and USDT only: any other token sent to it, SOL included, does not credit your balance and cannot be recovered. On another network, send only a token listed for that network, and always select the correct network before sending.
</Warning>

Once your balance is funded, the Card, QR Pay and remittance are all reachable from the Spend tab.
