# Degen: 5- and 15-minute Up or Down markets on Jupiter Predict

> Short Up or Down markets on crypto and SpaceX in Jupiter Predict Degen: price to beat, resolution feeds, Jupiter Forecast markets, and US market hours.

Degen is the section of Jupiter Predict for short-duration Up or Down price markets (`jup.ag/prediction/degen`). Each market asks whether a price will finish above or below its starting price over a fixed window. Degen has two tabs: **Crypto** and **Stocks**.

## Which markets are on Degen?

* Crypto: 5-minute and 15-minute Up or Down markets on BTC, SOL, ETH, XRP, BNB, DOGE, and HYPE, grouped by asset under a live price chart.
* Stocks: SPCX (SpaceX) Up or Down over 5 and 15 minutes, a [Jupiter Forecast](#what-are-jupiter-forecast-markets) market.

Filter chips narrow the Crypto list by window (All, 5m, 15m) or by asset, and the **Live** filter shows the markets currently running. The available assets and windows can change.

## How do I read a Degen market card?

Each card shows:

* The market and its window (5m or 15m), with a countdown to the end of the window.
* Price to beat: the price at the start of the window.
* Current price: the live price, with how far it has moved from the price to beat.
* The **Up** and **Down** buttons, with the current price of each side in cents.

## How do I trade an Up or Down market?

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open Degen">
    Click **Degen** in the Predict navigation.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Pick a market">
    Choose the asset and window. Upcoming windows are shown but cannot be traded until they are live.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose Up or Down">
    Click **Up** if you think the final price will be above the price to beat, or **Down** if you think it will be below.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter an amount and confirm">
    Review the quote, then sign in your wallet. If the route cannot execute, unused funds are returned automatically.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Degen markets resolve after their window ends. Profile shows whether the outcome is automatic, claimable, refundable, or final. See [Settlement and payouts](/user-docs/trade/predict/settlement).

## How is the outcome decided?

* If the final price is above the price to beat, Up wins.
* If the final price is below the price to beat, Down wins.
* The market rules settle edge cases, such as a tie or missing price data.

Each market's rules summary, at the bottom of its page, names its exact resolution source. The crypto markets resolve from Chainlink data streams (for example the SOL/USD TWAP stream), not from spot markets or other price sources.

## What are Jupiter Forecast markets?

Markets with a **Jupiter Forecast** badge are custom short-duration markets operated through a Jupiter market integration, over 5-minute and 15-minute windows, bought with USDC. They currently cover SPCX (SpaceX) on the Stocks tab. The BTC Up or Down markets on the Crypto tab are Polymarket-sourced Degen markets since 30 September 2026 and no longer carry the badge.

Forecast markets work like other Degen markets, with these specifics, also set out in each market's rules summary:

* Resolution source: the outcome comes from the price feed named in the rules, Pyth Pro signed snapshots (Equity.US.SPCX/USD) for SPCX, not from other price sources or spot markets. If the final price is greater than or equal to the starting price, the market resolves to Up; otherwise it resolves to Down.
* Near-instant settlement: winnings are credited to your wallet automatically shortly after the window closes. There is nothing to claim.
* Market orders only: the trade panel shows a Limit tab, but limit orders are not supported.
* Order limits: minimum \$5 and maximum \$1,000 per order.
* Fees: SPCX markets currently carry a **No fees** badge and charge no trading fee. See [Fees](/user-docs/trade/predict/fees).
* A short daily maintenance period, shown in the interface, makes these markets briefly unavailable each day.

## When can I trade stock markets?

Stock markets follow US market hours: SPCX markets are tradable during the US market session only. Outside those hours, the nearest past or upcoming event is still displayed but cannot be traded.

The first time you trade a stock market, an **Acknowledge Terms and Conditions** window shows the Jupiter Terms of Use. Click **Accept and continue** to trade, or **Do not agree** to close it.
