This page covers trading on YOLO, the jup.ag product for 500x–1,000x leverage on SOL, BTC, ETH, ZEC and HYPE. For how YOLO works as a whole, see the YOLO overview.

How do I open a YOLO trade?

1

Connect your wallet

Go to jup.ag/yolo and connect your wallet.
2

Accept the terms

Before your first trade, read the YOLO terms and risks, then click Accept and Continue. You can choose not to see them again for 30 days, and reread them at any time from Terms & risks.
3

Choose a mode and a market

Pick Classic, Double or Nothing, Full send or Spin, then SOL, BTC, ETH, ZEC or HYPE. On jup.ag in a desktop browser, the modes and the markets are tabs above the chart; in a phone browser, a strip under the header offers Classic, Double (Double or Nothing) and Spin. The steps below open a Classic position: for the other modes, see How does Double or Nothing work on YOLO?, How does Full send work on YOLO? and How does Spin work on YOLO?
4

Enter your collateral

Under You’re paying, choose a token and enter an amount, or use 25%, Half or Max. See Which tokens can I pay with on YOLO?
5

Set the leverage

Use the slider or the − and + buttons: 500x to 1,000x, in steps of 100x. On your first visit, the form starts at 1,000x, the highest leverage and the closest bust price; after that, it keeps the last leverage you chose in that browser. Lower it if you want more room before liquidation.
6

Check the details

The form shows the position size, max position size, estimated entry, long bust price, short bust price and move to bust.
7

Go long or short

Click Long or Short, then approve the transaction in your wallet. On desktop, the new position appears in Positions with its entry marked Pending until the trade lands.
You can hold several YOLO positions at once, on the same market or on different ones. YOLO does not limit the number of positions: only the size limits apply.

How does Double or Nothing work on YOLO?

Double or Nothing is a YOLO mode in which a position has only two planned outcomes: a take profit that returns twice its collateral, or liquidation at $0. The app sums it up as One position. Two outcomes. Markets, payment tokens, leverage (500x to 1,000x), size limits and fees are the same as in Classic.
1

Open the Double or Nothing tab

Click Double or Nothing next to Classic, or go to jup.ag/yolo/?mode=double. The form reads Auto TP at 2× · No manual close and shows what the position returns at liquidation ($0), its size, and what it returns at the take profit (Auto TP +100%).
2

Set your collateral and leverage

As in Classic: choose a token and an amount, then a leverage from 500x to 1,000x.
3

Review the round

Click Long or Short. A review card asks, for example, Lock in SOL long? and shows what you put in, what you get back (twice your collateral, or $0), and the approximate take-profit and liquidation prices. Both prices are set from your fill price, so they can differ from the preview.
4

Lock it in

Click Lock in long or Lock in short, then approve the transaction in your wallet. The position and its take profit are created in the same transaction.
Once open, the position ends in one of three ways: You cannot close a Double or Nothing position yourself, add collateral to it or change its take profit. If you try to close it, the app shows This position closes at its take profit or liquidation. It cannot be closed manually. You can run several Double or Nothing positions at once, next to Classic ones, and switching modes or markets does not close them. The take profit is further from your entry than the bust price, because the profit adjustment and the fees reduce what a move in your favor pays (see YOLO profit adjustment and fees): These moves do not depend on the amount of collateral. They follow from the current fees and profit curve: the prices on the review card prevail. The profit part of a take profit follows the usual payout rules: it is paid at close when the House can cover it, otherwise it waits in the payout queue. Your remaining collateral always returns at close. Opening in Double or Nothing also creates the take-profit order’s account. Your wallet pays its rent, a small amount of SOL, which is not refunded: it pays the Jupiter keeper that executes the order.

How does Full send work on YOLO?

Full send is a YOLO mode for trading every market from one form. It is available on jup.ag in a desktop browser only: click Full send next to Double or Nothing. In a phone browser, a Full send link opens Classic. The form keeps the amount and the leverage, and lists each market with its price, its change over the last 25 seconds, and a Long and a Short button:
  • Long or Short on a market opens one position there, with the amount and leverage above, after your wallet approval.
  • Long all or Short all opens one position in every market, each with the amount above, for a single wallet approval. The form shows the total, such as $50.00 total for 10 JupUSD on five markets. If some orders fail, the app names the markets not opened, such as Not opened: ZEC., and the other positions still open. A wallet that cannot approve several transactions at once shows This wallet can’t open several positions at once.
  • Hovering Long or Short previews the new position’s liquidation price on the chart.
Positions opened in Full send are Classic positions: the same fees, bust price, earliest close and size limits apply. Megaphone messages cannot be sent from Full send. The chart offers two views: Picking a market in the market bar switches back to Classic on that market.

How does Spin work on YOLO?

Spin is a YOLO mode in which you choose only the stake: YOLO draws the market and the side at random and opens a Classic position at 1,000x. It is available on jup.ag in a desktop browser and in a phone browser.
1

Open Spin

Click Spin next to Full send, or tap it in the mode strip in a phone browser. The stage shows every possible outcome as a card, one per market and side, such as BTC long or ZEC short.
2

Choose your stake

Under You’re paying, choose a token and an amount, as in Classic: see Which tokens can I pay with on YOLO? The leverage is fixed at 1,000x. The form shows the position size, the number of outcomes and the chance of each, such as 10 · 1 in 10 each, the move to bust and the payout token.
3

Spin

Click Spin, then approve the transaction in your wallet. The trade is drawn when you press Spin, so you approve it without seeing its market or side. The cards then drop one by one until yours is revealed, such as Your spin: SOL long, and the position opens.
Every outcome has the same chance. An outcome whose side has no room for your position under the size limits is greyed out and cannot be drawn: the form then reads, for example, 8 of 10 fit · 1 in 8 each. If you reject the approval, nothing is submitted and the draw is not shown: the app reads Spin canceled before the reveal. Nothing was submitted. A Spin position is a Classic position at 1,000x. It can be liquidated from the moment it opens, at a 0.098% move against you, and you can close it 15 seconds after it opens at the earliest. The fees, profit cap, time limit and size limits are the same as in Classic, and a Spin open can carry a megaphone. To mute the reveal, turn off Spin reveal in the settings menu.

Which tokens can I pay with on YOLO?

YOLO positions use JupUSD as collateral. If you pay with JupUSD, it is used as is. If you pay with any other token in the list, it is swapped to JupUSD in the same transaction, with a 0.5% slippage tolerance:
  • The minimum collateral and the position size apply to the JupUSD the swap delivers, not to the amount of the token you pay.
  • If the swap would deliver less than its quote minus the 0.5% tolerance, the trade fails.
  • If no swap route exists for your amount, the app shows No swap route to JupUSD for this amount. Choose another token or amount.
Collateral returned at close and profits are always paid in JupUSD.
Keep some SOL in your wallet for network fees and account rent.

How is my YOLO position size calculated?

Your position size is your collateral times the leverage. Profits, losses and size limits are all based on the position size.

What is the bust price on YOLO?

The bust price is the price at which a YOLO position is liquidated: the price at which your loss reaches the position’s collateral minus the close fee. Because the close fee is 0.002% of the position size, the bust price sits 0.002% closer to your entry price than one leverage-th: The form shows the long bust price, the short bust price and the move to bust before you open. If the close fee changes, so does the bust price: the move to bust in the form prevails. Before the bust price, your loss is linear: the position size times the price move against you, plus the close fee (see YOLO profit adjustment and fees). When the price reaches the bust price, the position is liquidated automatically and you lose all its collateral; History shows it as Liquidated.
You never lose more than the collateral of the position: a YOLO liquidation leaves no debt, and the close fee comes out of the same collateral.

What price does my YOLO trade fill at?

The chart and the estimated entry use Pyth prices, which are indicative. A YOLO trade fills at the Pyth Pro price recorded onchain about 2 seconds after you submit it, not at the price on screen when you click. Opens and closes work the same way.
A YOLO order has no price limit: your entry price, PnL and bust price are final only once the trade executes, and they can differ from what you saw.

Why can a YOLO trade be delayed or fail?

A new position can be closed 15 seconds after it opens at the earliest. Until then, its Close button is disabled and counts down, such as Close in 12s, and Close all closes only the positions that can already close. The other cases each show a message in the app: A failed trade can still cost wallet network fees.

How do I close a YOLO position?

These controls close Classic positions only: a Double or Nothing position closes at its take profit, its bust price or the time limit. You can close a Classic position 15 seconds after it opens at the earliest: see Why can a YOLO trade be delayed or fail? A close fills at the price about 2 seconds after you submit it. When you close, your remaining collateral returns to your wallet immediately, in JupUSD. Your profit follows the rules in YOLO payouts and the House.

When does YOLO close a position automatically?

YOLO closes a position for you, without any action on your part, in these cases: A time-limit or profit-cap close settles like a manual close, at the onchain oracle price when it executes: it pays the close fee, your remaining collateral returns to your wallet in JupUSD, and your profit is paid or queued under the usual payout rules. A position that reaches its bust price first is liquidated instead. Your wallet does not sign an automatic close. In a block explorer, the close transaction is signed only by a Jupiter keeper account, while a close you make yourself also carries your wallet’s signature. A YOLO position has no holding fee while it is open.

Can I change a YOLO position after opening it?

No. Once a YOLO position is open, its collateral, leverage and size stay fixed:
  • You cannot partially close it: a close always closes the whole position.
  • You cannot add collateral to move the bust price away, or withdraw collateral from it.
To change your exposure, close the position and open a new one.

What are the YOLO position size limits?

Limits apply to the position size, not to your collateral: To see the maximum position size per market and side, open Read full rules under House rules. These are launch values: the values shown in the app prevail.

How do I track my YOLO trades?

How do I watch other traders’ YOLO positions?

The Top open positions list ranks the top twenty open YOLO positions across all traders. On jup.ag in a desktop browser, it fills the left sidebar on a wide window and sits under House rules on a narrower one. On jup.ag in a phone browser, tap the chip in the chart toolbar, between Live and All trades, to open it. Each row shows the wallet, the market, the leverage and the side. Choose a ranking: The rankings update every second from live prices. Click a row to watch that position. The chart switches to its market and shows its entry, bust price, PnL and holding time, with You’re watching and the wallet below the chart; your own Close position button is hidden meanwhile. When that trader closes or is liquidated, the chart shows their result, then leaves watch mode. Auto watch cycles through the top five positions of the selected ranking, about 8 seconds each, and skips positions that close. Hovering, panning or zooming the chart pauses it; click Stop to end it. To leave watch mode, click Exit watch mode, press Esc, pick a market or open a trade. While you watch, Share opens a PnL card for the watched position, and the link it shares opens YOLO on the same trader’s position.

How do I see another trader’s YOLO account?

Spy mode shows another wallet’s YOLO account in place of yours, read-only: its open positions, history, PnL panel and leaderboard rank. Click Spy in watch mode, the Spy icon on a leaderboard row, or Spy on a trader’s page. A bar under the header reads Spying on and the wallet; click Exit spy mode to return to your own account. In spy mode, you cannot trade: Long, Short and Close are disabled, and the form reads Trading is off in spy mode. A spy link can be shared: it opens YOLO on the same wallet.

What is the YOLO megaphone?

A megaphone is a message that a trader attaches to a large open, shown to everyone on YOLO. An open with a position size of $250,000 or more can carry one, such as 250 JupUSD of collateral at 1,000x. To send one, use the Classic or the Spin form, on jup.ag in a desktop or a phone browser:
  1. Enter an amount and a leverage that make a position size of $250,000 or more (in Spin, the leverage is always 1,000x). Below that, the form reads Megaphone unlocks at $250k position size and nothing is sent.
  2. In the Megaphone row under the leverage, type a message of up to 140 characters, or pick one from Presets and edit it.
  3. Open the trade as usual. If you pay with a token other than JupUSD, the message shows only if your fill reaches $250,000.
You cannot send a megaphone from Double or Nothing, from Full send or with a close. Tabs and hidden characters in the message block the trade until you remove them.
A megaphone is public: everyone on YOLO sees it with your wallet, which links to your trader page.
The latest megaphone appears for a few seconds each time you open a YOLO page: in the bottom-right corner on desktop, under the header in a phone browser. It shows the trader’s wallet, the open’s age, side, market, leverage and size, and the message, with a sticker for the size: Loud from $250,000, Louder from $500,000, and Max volume at $1,000,000. Watch follows that trader’s position, and the close button hides the card. Full send does not show megaphones on desktop. To mute the sound a new megaphone makes, turn off Megaphones in the settings menu.

How does the YOLO leaderboard work?

The YOLO leaderboard, which opens from Leaderboard next to the sound and settings buttons at the top of YOLO (a trophy in a phone browser), ranks wallets over 24H, 7D or All time in three categories: A filter limits the rankings to one mode: All modes, Classic or Double or Nothing. Full send and Spin positions count as Classic. Rankings update shortly after a close. Connect your wallet to see your own rank. Click a trader to open their page, with their rank, stats, open positions and closed trades.
